Tom Adams
Composer & Performer
Tom Adams is a Composer, Performer and Creative Director of Headphone Story. He is an associate artist of Harrogate Theatre, Attenborough Arts Centre & Omnibus Theatre and has just launched Season 1 of his Headphone Story audio series in collaboration with BBC Radio 4 Producer Karen Pirie.
Over the last ten years, he has been the lead artist on 11 Arts Council England supported projects and toured nationally, including Battersea Arts Centre, Wilderness Festival and National Rural Touring Forum.
As a freelance composer, his recent projects include ‘In A Thousand Silences’ (The Freedom Theatre - Palestine, British Council, Relative Motion VR), ‘Backstage Tour’ (Chichester Festival Theatre, Relative Motion VR), ‘Alice’ (Binaural Sound Design of ‘Alice in Wonderland’ Research and Development), 'As You Like It'/'King Lear'/'Romeo & Juliet'/'Richard II' (Relative Motion VR, The Space and Catapult Digital 5G Testbed Accelerator Programme), 'Athelstan Road Project' (NPO 1927 & Resort Studios, selected for Turner Contemporary - Open Exhibition), 'Raree Tales' (NPO 1927).
Recent live community theatre projects include 'Human Jam' (NPO Camden People's Theatre and residents of the borough of Camden), 'boat-house-theatre' (NPO ARC Theatre Stockton and Teeside Women’s Poets). 'Offside' podcast (Futures Theatre in collaboration with Steppers Women of Colour Football Club) and live theatre show by Fringe First Winner Sabrina Mahfouz & Hollie McNish - Ted Hughes poetry award winner.
He has composed music for over 50 theatre productions with collaborators including Carys Wright, Laura Mugridge, Emma Frankland, Andrew Glester, Katy Schutte, Miracle Theatre, and Dan Scott.
